Limpopo Lotto Player Lands R19 Million Lotto Jackpot
Lotto players from Limpopo have been encouraged to check their tickets after someone won a jackpot worth more than R19 million on Saturday 12 September.
There was only one entry from all those submitted into the draw that matched the winning numbers 13, 20, 30, 34, 40 and 50, bringing an end to a run of six consecutive rollovers.
Two players matched five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball of 28 to land R46,876 each, while there were 81,000 other prizes given away. Go to the Lotto Results page to find out the number of winners in each prize division.
The winner has not yet made themselves known to National Lottery operator Ithuba, but it has been revealed that the all-important ticket was purchased in the Thohoyandou region of Limpopo. The lucky player spent just R30 and played a Quick Pick rather than choosing their own numbers.
“With a jackpot of this magnitude, we really hope that the winner will make contact with us soon,” said Ithuba’s head of corporate relations Busisiwe Msizi.
“We encourage all players, especially from the Thohoyandou area to check their tickets as they may be our latest instant millionaire.”
The largest Lotto jackpot in history came back in January 2018, when 21 rollovers in a row pushed the top prize up to R110 million. Four players split the money, netting R27.5 million each.
The biggest jackpot to have been seen on the game this year was an R58 million prize that went to a single ticket holder on 14 March.
Powerball is also up to R100 million following a run of rollovers stretching back to 17 July. Go to the Lottery Tickets page to play your favourite game online, or pick up a ticket from an authorised retailer.
